I have also moved the clients to Office I have the users setup in the dashboard, and assigned to an Office account. Is there a way to check password sync between server and o? I have had clients change their passwords online, which I know breaks the sync, but shouldn’t a change on the computer re-enable that sync? It almost seem easier to just not have any integration as none of the user accounts seem synced at this time, and I’ve only had one user out of dozens actually change their password online Compounding the issue is that with multiple devices, such as phones, and tablets, you may be prompted to change your password in other places than your corporate network without going to the online version of office.

Users will just simply change the password on their mobile device, then wonder why they can’t get into anything from their desktop. It’s too much for users to handle, and a training nightmare for me as an admin. I’ve seen if the local password policy is changed after integration to a less secure password complexity, that if you change it on the lan, it won’t “sync” up to the o due to the more complex requirement online.

I’ve found that if I change it at the Dashboard essentials it syncs with the o as long as the above are good. Garland Tech, Inc. I just checked the password expiration policy on the O accounts in question and it’s set to days, which is WAY more than what I have at the local server, so I think we’re good there. Not sure why the one client was asked to reset the password when away from the network unless that policy gets set at some later time.

I still do have an issue where the passwords do seem to get out of sync pretty easily, and I’m not sure of how to remedy – other than unassign and reassign, which makes the user reset their password that next login. It would be nice if there was a way to check sync, or force a resync from server to O without causing a password reset for the user. That is interesting, because it doesn’t appear to work that way.

I reset the password at the console, which allowed the user to login to the computer, but they could not login to Office I fixed it by unassigning the account, and reassinging the account, and then before the user logged in or out, I changed the password in the Dashboard.

I at least hope I thwarted the “user must change password at next logon” by manually setting the password in the Dashboard. Monday when the primary user comes in, she may get a password change request although AD doesn’t have it checked. I have an account at this clients, which I can mess with and see whats going on.
